Samsung to launch its dual monitor with webcam

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of its 22-inch all-in-one LCD monitor ‘SyncMaster 2263DX’ in Korea market, which features an additional 7-inch monitor connected to the display through USB.

Facilitating a multi-screen environment, the 2263DX monitor is ideal for users who require multiple screens to run programs and applications simultaneously. Leveraging Samsung’s proprietary UbiSync technology, the 2263DX delivers simple plug-and-play USB 2.0 connectivity, allowing for effortless dual screen configuration.With a wide 170/160 viewing angle and a high 1680 x 1050 resolution on the 22-inch screen and a resolution of 800×480 on the tandem screen, the SyncMaster 2263DX supports Samsung’s MagicBrite3 technology, 8,000:1 contrast ratio, 5 ms response time, a built-in 3M high-resolution webcam, dual-array microphone and speakers.

The 7-inch tandem screen is attached via a pivoting, swiveling arm that allows it to be positioned on either side, above, or even detached and set beside the main display.

Sony Betting Big On OLED TV, $210 Million Big; Churning Out 30-Inch And Larger OLED TV’s In 2009

Sony will go ahead with plans to invest approximately 22 billion yen (US$210 million) to strengthen its lead in the production of medium- to large-size OLED panels in the second half of 2008, according to Yoshito Shiraishi, general manager, e-products and business development department of TV business group, Sony.

The company will expand its capacity at Sony Mobile Display, enabling the plant to turn out even larger size OLED panels in fiscal 2009 (April 2009-March 2010), Shiraishi said in a keynote speech delivered at the Society for Information Display (SID) 2008 electronic display trade show in Los Angeles.

Sony expects its shipments of LCD TVs to top 17 million units in 2008 compared to 10.6 million units shipped in 2007, Shiraishi said.

Remember back to CES 2008 back in January and you’re sure to have a particular 150-inch Panasonic plasma monster somewhere in the forefront of your memories. Panasonic has completed a test run of the Neo Plasma at its P5 plant currently being built in Amagasaki, Japan and is rumored to be hitting shelves as early June 2009. Of course by shelves, we mean ones in Japan.

The lineup includes a petite 24.7mm-thick 50-incher and its life-size 150-inch sibling. The latter also offers four times better image details over standard full-HD TVs with a native 4,096 x 2,160-pixel resolution. Size and picture quality aside, there is the FX or Double Efficiency technology. This eco-friendly feature delivers the same level of screen brightness at only half the power required by current flat panels.

BenQ released its 24-inch high-end monitor ‘V2400W’ in Japan market, which features 24mm thickness.Sold in Japan for 371€ the new LCD feature an DVI-D HDCP connector as well as an HDMI one and D-SUB one. With a “slim” body (24mm) our LCD has a contrast ratio of 1000:1 and a brightness of 250cd/m2.

This V2400W is far to have stunning performances (on the paper) but does have a great design.

LG’s Xcanvas HT953TVP home theater system looks to be the official companion to the Xcanvas Scarlett and Xcanvas Bobos plasma lines. Announced yesterday, the HT953TVP upscales to 1080p, can playback MP3 files as well as supports MP3 recording via USB, and features 5.1-channel surround sound. Probably the most eye-popping feature is the Virtual Sound Matrix which actually simulates 10.1 channel surround sound. Heck, why even bother going to the movie theater with technology like this in your living room!

The Aquos AN-AR300 from Sharp Japan is an ideal companion for matching Aquos 37″ and 32″ LCD TV’s. The television rack comes with a built amplifier and 2.1 channel speaker system complete with a sub-woofer. The unit is 911mm wide and has two deck stations for a BD and DVD recorder. The digital amplifier and the sub-woofer deliver an output of 25W×2ch and 70W respectively. The amplifier has an HDMI input and when connected to an Aquos LCD TV and BD recorder all the three devices can be controlled by a single remote control. MP3 players and cell phones can be connected to the unit via the stereo mini slot.

LG showcased its broad line of LCD and Plasma TVs at the Hospitality Design Expo 2008 in Las Vegas.

LG’s first Full HD TV ‘42LB5DC’ designed with the hospitality industry in mind, employs MPEG-4 H.264 decoding technology to create an entertainment environment.

This technology delivers entertainment quality and flexibility to guests at hotels where HD programming is available. The model is also equipped with Pro Idiom Digital Rights Management System, which unlocks access to premium content and provides rapid and broad deployment of HDTV and other high-value digital content. Additional features include built-in pay-per-view capabilities and In Plane Switching, which automatically reduces the distortion and blurring.

Sharp has unveiled no less than twenty-two new LCD TVs, the RX5 Series, GX5 Series, and DS5 Series.

RX5 Series: Available in 65″, 52″ and 46”, with a contrast ratio of 3300:1 and a “living contrast” ratio of 1500:1, providing in total a stunning contrast ratio of 20000:1, and a brightness of 450cd/m2. Our TV is full HD with a new 120Hz panel and 12bit BDE image processor.

GX5 Series: Available in full HD and HD ready with panel size ranging from 26” up to 52”. It also has the 120Hz ASV panel, a contrast ratio to 2000:1, and a brightness of 450cd/m2.

DS5 Series: Three full HD TVs, with sizes ranging from 32″ to 42”, it also features a 2000:1 contrast ratio and a 450cd/m2 brightness, without the 120Mhz panel.
