BTC launched its 26-inch multimedia LCD monitor ‘Zeus 8000 260MS Delux’ in Korea market, which features two tone color with high-gloss finish.

Equipped with HDMI port as well as DVI, D-SUB and multi-card reader slot, the Zeus 8000 260MS Delux supports 1,920 x 1,200 resolution, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 450 cd/m² brightness and 5ms response speed.

Suggested price is 599,000(KRW).

Samsung Electronics showcases the industry’s first 82-inch UD(Ultra Definition) LCD TV panel during SDI(Society for Information Display) 2008 in Los Angeles, USA, from May 18 to 23.

Supporting 3,840 x 2,160 resolution, this UD TV panel features 120Hz motion technology and LED backlight to raise true color saturation to 150 percent, based on the NISC standard of 100 percent.

In addition, Samsung introduces its multi-touch e-Board equipped with the 82-inch UD LCD panel as well as presents future display technologies such as 52-inch 3D display and e-Paper.

AU Optronics to intro green technology for LCD TVs

AU Optronics, Taiwan’s largest manufacturer of TFT LCD panels, announced on Wednesday that it will showcase its AUO Green Innovations exhibit at the SID 2008 show which kicks off on May 20. On display will be the company’s new generation of panels featuring LED technology, including the an ultra-slim 42-inch LCD that is less than 0.4 inches think and weighs 44 percent less than conventional panels of the same size. Despite its slimness, the screen achieves a brightness rating of 450 nits, which is just 50 nits short of the company’s current 42-inch LCD offerings. The TV also utilizes a 16×8 block of efficient white LEDs to reduce power consumption while allowing for a high dynamic contrast of more than 200,000:1.

Hannspree has dropped some 19-inch LCD monitors called the XM-Ball Series in Korea. They feature a soccer ball, basketball and baseball-shaped frames made from real leather. All three have support for 1280 x 1024 resolution, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 3ms response speed and HDMI port. No word on pricing or availability just yet

Sharp Unveils Two New 46” and 52” TVs

Yesterday Sharp unveiled two new LCD TVs, the TL-M4600 and the TL-M5200. These devices measure respectively 46’’ and 52’’ with a full two-megapixel 1920×1080 resolution. They also feature Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View (ASV) panel, 176 degree viewing angle, a contrast ratios of 1500:1 (TL-M4600) and 2000:1 (TL-M5200), and analog, DVI-D, and HDCP-compatible HDMI inputs.

Sony’s Bravia S4 lineup will hit Asian shelves next month with a variety of color options to choose from. Available in fruity pink, green and orange, blue, black and white, the S4 Series includes 5 new models ranging from 20 to 37 inches, all featuring the Bravia 2 Engine, Bravia Sync, Advanced Contrast Enhancer, 24p True Cinema, and a trio of HDMI inputs. S-force audio can be pumped through a separate home theater system, but the S4 line all have a couple of 10W speakers built in. And what about contrast ratio? It ranges from 2000:1 for the smallest 20-inch model up to 33000:1 for the largest 37-inch model. Prices will be released closer to the June launch.

Pioneer updates KURO plasmas, intros 1080p projector

Pioneer this morning overhauled its KURO and Signature Series lines of plasma HDTVs as well as introducing a new 1080p projector. While not going into specifics, the Elite line now has better contrast ratios to produce deeper black levels as well as improved colors; the new models are also much more customizable and also pack an Optimum mode that automatically checks both the environment and the content itself to adjust both the image and audio quality on the fly, saving viewers from having to make manual adjustments at different times of the day or as they switch channels or movies.

The company divides its high-end launch into four models. The standard Elite KURO models ship in 50-inch (PRO-111FD) and 60-inch (PRO-151FD) sets both capable of 1080p; they also both ship in June and will sell for $5,000 and $6,500 respectively. Pioneer also ships same-sized 50- (PRO-101FD) and 60-inch (PRO-141FD) Elite Signature Series models built for custom home theater installations that are similarly capable and will be available in October and August respectively, though prices aren’t expected to appear until closer to the launches themselves.
