Dell has rolled out their new LCD Monitor to the market. Known as the S2309W, the monitor features 16:9 aspect ratio, 1,920 x 1,080 resolution, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a quick 5ms response time, and 300cd/m2 brightness. No info on pricing and availability at this time. Too bad, the Dell S2309W LCD Monitor does not have HDMI port and only provides DVI and VGA ports.

Dell is preparing to update its display line with a second model that hints at a wider revamp of its line, a Taiwan-area leak of a prototype shows. The S2209W would be unique among 22-inch displays in its use of a 16:9 ratio, 1920×1080 resolution. The image is both much sharper than the 16:10, 1680×1050 displays that dictate most 22-inch LCDs and also better-suited to HD movies, which would output at full resolution and without the black bars that come from a non-native aspect ratio.
The screen would also likely ship at a price below the $349 Dell charges for its 24-inch LCD.

The 24-inch screen is Dell’s first to switch from a normal 16:10 ratio to a wider 16:9. Although this sacrifices resolution, dropping from 1920×1200 to 1920×1080, the resolution matches the 1080p output of Blu-ray movies and most other HD formats and results in a larger overall picture for those and most other widescreen videos. An HDMI input gives the S2409W a direct video input for movie players and game consoles. DVI and VGA are equally available for computer input on the display, which is listed with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and a 5ms average pixel response time. It isn’t given the same color accuracy as displays like the 2709W but still reproduces 85 percent of the NTSC color range. Dell claims the S2409W ships within one to two business days and gives it a $379 price.

Dell announced today a 27-inch LCD. The 1920×1200 display is touted for its extreme color accuracy and reproduces just over one billion colors, or 110 percent of the NTSC color gamut. It also produces a 3,000:1 claimed contrast ratio and 450cd/m2 of brightness while maintaining a reasonably fast 6ms pixel response time. The new offering is additionally the first Dell display at the size to include a DisplayPort connector that addresses the new computer display format. The screen pivots into portrait mode and includes the full range of input that would normally be reserved for Dell’s 30-inch displays: HDMI, DVI, and VGA support high-definition digital sources, while component, S-video, and RCA address analog input. A multi-port USB hub and a two-part, nine-format card reader round out its features.
Dell already lists the 2709W as available and ships within one to two days for $999.

Dell presented an award-winning 30-inch UltraSharp(TM) 3008WFP monitor during CES 2008 which was demonstrated at last year’s CES as a concept product.
It features 30-inch display with amazing 2560 x 1600 native resolution. The fast 8 ms response time (grey-to-grey), and incredible 3000:1 dynamic contrast ratio lets you view images, documents, graphics and video with extreme detail, vivid color and fluid motion.

Dell released the 3008WFP, its new flagship. Already available in Japan, the display is only the second ever beyond Dell’s own Crystal to optionally pipe video through a DisplayPort connector, enabling higher resolutions than single-link DVI as well as other features. It also stands as Dell’s most color-accurate screen and reproduces 100 percent of the NTSC color gamut at a 3,000:1 contrast ratio.

Images are clean thanks to an updated image processor, Dell says. Input is broad with the option of using HDMI or HDCP-encrypted DVI for digital signals as well as VGA, component, S-video, and RCA; expansion keeps in step with a four-port USB hub and a 9-in-2 card reader. The Texas-based PC builder lists the 3008WFP as available today for $1,999
