Hitachi a few days ago announced its new line of 2008 Plasma HDTV’s, which showcase elegant new designs, advanced technologies and robust, industry-leading features. Hitachi’s new HDTV’s respond perfectly to today’s new breed of home electronics consumer, who is extremely discerning and demands innovation, high-style, performance and prestige from every electronics product they bring into their home.

The new Hitachi HDTV’s come in high gloss Japan black and high gloss crystal frames with manual swivel stands or unique remote controlled power swivel stands. All of Hitachi’s 2008 plasmas are Energy Star-certified, have an ambient light sensor, deep black stripe filters, an anti-reflective panel, game mode, and a TV Guide On Screen interactive program guide. Remember back to CES 2008 back in January and you’re sure to have a particular 150-inch Panasonic plasma monster somewhere in the forefront of your memories. Panasonic has completed a test run of the Neo Plasma at its P5 plant currently being built in Amagasaki, Japan and is rumored to be hitting shelves as early June 2009. Of course by shelves, we mean ones in Japan.

The lineup includes a petite 24.7mm-thick 50-incher and its life-size 150-inch sibling. The latter also offers four times better image details over standard full-HD TVs with a native 4,096 x 2,160-pixel resolution. Size and picture quality aside, there is the FX or Double Efficiency technology. This eco-friendly feature delivers the same level of screen brightness at only half the power required by current flat panels.

Samsung to launch its advanced HDTV ‘PAVV Bordeaux 550′

Samsung Electronics announced the launch of its full HD LCD TV ‘PAVV Bordeaux 550(model: LN40/46A550P1F)’ that consists of 40- and 46-inch models.

Supporting 30,000:1 contrast ratio, the PAVV Bordeaux 550 adopts Samsung’s latest technologies including an advanced black panel, ‘Speed Backlight’, ‘DNIe+’, an upgraded Digital Natural Image engine, and ‘Wide Color ControlPro’.

Other features included 2.2 channel sound with two woofers and three entertainment modes; sports, movie and game.

It is expected to be available for around 2,400,000(KRW) and 4,000,000(KRW) respectively. According to the company, the PAVV Bordeaux 550 will be released in global market in 1Q 2008, and Samsung is also going to launch the 32-inch model in the end of February.

Sharp unveil 21 new LCD TV with the Amazing X Series of 3.44cm thick

Sharp invited us(akihabaranews.com) to the launch of their new line-up of LCD TV with the AQUOS X Series, E Series and D Series.

While the E and D series are somehow common we will focus our attention to the stunning X Series which is available in 37, 42 and 47” and has a thickness of only 3.44cm !

All X Series TV are of course Full HD (1920×1080), has a Double-Speed LCD (120Hz), offer an amazing contrast ratio of 15000:1 and 12-bit BDE color value rendering, a 1Bit Digital amplifier and 3 1.3a HDMI input.
