Sony revealed two new 5.1-channel Blu-ray HTIB systems, the BDV-E300 and BDV-E500W. Both home theater systems support BD-Live-capable (Profile 2.0) Blu-ray player, BRAVIA Sync technology, and Sony’s Digital Media Port to easily control Apple’s iPod and Sony’s Walkman line. The Sony BDV-E500W features an integrated S-AIR wireless audio capabilities that allows you to place your rear speakers in the room wirelessly. The BDV-E300 Blu-ray HTIB and the BDV-E500W Blu-ray HTIB will be launched in June for around $600 and $800.

Sony Japan introduces two new Bravia LCD HDTVs, the W5 and F5. Both HDTVs feature a 240MHz Motion Flow panel (Except the 32F5 Model which only feature a 120MHz LCD panel) and a Felica / Edy e-Wallet reader on their remote control that allows users to make online payment for any VOD (Video On Demand) services in Japan. The Bravia W5 and F5 also adopt the Bravia Engine 3. The W5 Series are available from 40 inch to 52 inch with a Dual Digital TV Tuner, meanwhile the F5 Series are available from 32 inch to 46 inch with a single Digital TV Tuner.

LG Korea today introduced the XCanvas Bobos PDP TV (Plasma) that is available in two version in the form of the 42 inch 42PQ60D and 50 inch 50PQ60D. These Plasma TVs feature LG’s XD picture engines which adjust the picture quality continuously for a better viewing experience, a 1,000,000,000 :1 contrast ratio, and the availability to play video files from a USB drive. The 42 inch 42PQ60D and 50 inch 50PQ60D are currently available in Korea for 1,400,000 ($ 1000) and 2,000,000 KRW ($ 1400).

LG Korea today launches its new LCD HDTVs from its XCanvas LH30FD series that consists of a 47 inch, 42 inch and 32 inch LCD HDTVs. All of them boast a Cinema Color technology that offers the best Video quality and color contrast. LG also aimed to provide a series of TV capable to reduce up to 70% its power consumption. No word on pricing at this time.

Watch satellite TV on PC, TV or Free Satellite Television? This is a question of choice but not on equal grounds since each have its strengths and weaknesses. According to a national wide survey, an average American probably spends more than 16% of his time in an entire year watching TV. This translates to about two months in a year which is more than half the time we spend on sleeping. Another staggering fact is more than two-thirds of American homes own more than three TV sets. TV is part of American culture. You need a new tv for this ?

Sharp today announced the latest E-Series LCD for the US market with size going up to 65 inch and devised within the E77U series and E67U Series. These LCDs offer HD quality and features Sharp’s ASV screen technology. The price ranges from $899.99 to $4,499.99.

The NEC MultiSync LCD2690W2-BK-SV (26-inch) and LCD3090W-BK-SV (30-inch) displays come bundled with the SpectraView color calibration sensor and software. The company offers the SVII-PRO-KIT as an accessory for select NEC LCD displays and includes the new color measurement sensor and SpectraViewII calibration software. The SVII-PRO-KIT retails for $329. Meanwhile, the SpectraViewII software (SVII-SOFT) is also sold separately at an estimated street price of $104.99. The NEC MultiSync LCD2690W2-BK-SV (26-inch) and LCD3090W-BK-SV (30-inch) displays are priced at $1,449 and $2,449, respectively.

Samsung will unveil a 6.5mm thin LED backlit TV panel at the CES 2009 this week. The new ultra-thin Samsung LED TV panel supports a 240Hz refresh rate and Wide Color ControlPro promising a wider spectrum of colors. No word on pricing or availability so far.

The Prime TW215FHD features a 21.5’’ LCD Panel size with a resolution of 1,920×1,080, as well as 2HDMI Input, two stereo speakers (1.5Wx2), and provides a contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (up to 5,000:1 with the DCR), a brightness of 300cd/m², and a response time of 5ms.
It will cost around 24,800 Yen (200€).
